Reading/ELA - Unit 2
Students will be working with the following "Most Common Words" throughout the second unit:

Reading - Students will learn the characteristics of folktales, fables, and dramas.
Students will also be reviewing parts of folktales and fables: characters, setting, events, problem, solution
Students will determine the central message in fiction; determine the main idea in non-fiction; and determine the main idea in media they listen to and/or watch.
Grammar - verbs: regular and irregular verbs; verb tense
Writing - Students will be writing informative essays. Using two sources, students will write an introduction including a lively lead and a topic sentence; 3 body parts, each with a main idea and supporting sentences; and a conclusion. Students will site the sources they are using. Students will also begin to color code as part of the editing process.
